9XM

9XM is another music channel like MTV & Channel V. It shows only bollywood songs which are not too old. But what I like most about the channel is the breaks that they have between the songs. Apart from the regular commercials, they show things like Bakwas Band Kar - PJ session, Bheegi Billi - stupid songs of a supposedly smart street cat, The Beetle Nuts - stupid Shero Shayari. My favorite is Bakwas Band Kar. The 2 cartoon characters are good and the way they speak is amazing. Below are some PJs that I remember from the channel.

1) Bade: yaar mujhe doctor ke paas jana hai
Chhote: kyun kya hua
B: mujhe na eye sight check karwani hai
C: kyun kya hua eye sight ko
B: mujhe aajkal door ka nahi dikhta
C: door ka nahi dikhta?
B: haan yaar
C: acha tujhe wo sun nazar aa raha hai
B: haan
C: toh aur kitni door dekhega yaar
;)
B: bakwas band kar

2) C: arre bade kahan bhage ja raha hai
B: haan yaar, mere padosi ko gunde utha ke le gaye
C: gunde le gaye, haan fir to tuhje jana chahiye
B: haan tabhi toh ja raha hun
C: but khali hath jayega? unke paas toh gun shun hogi
B: aree haan ye baat bhi sahi hai, khali hath kaise jayun
C: ais akar 2 dozens kele le ja, khali hath jana theek nahi lagta 1st time
;)
B: bakwas band kar

Politics - meaning changed

The other day I was watching comedy Circus on TV when 2 people enacted a conversation between 2 politicians Pervez Musharraf and Sonia Gandhi. It made me think that the word politics/politician used to mean the study of government of states and other political units or the profession devoted to governing and to political affairs or as a process by which groups of people make decisions as to who gets what, when, why, how, etc.

Now the same word is so commonly used in corporate world for people who strive to be in power and authority even if it means causing harm to others. And it does not appear just among the top management but also trickles down to the lowers levels.
We so commonly hear that so and so person/group is playing politics. What I am trying to say here is that healthy social relationships or a simple performance related achievements have taken a back seat in the corporates. Where is the world going? What is happening to people?Has money and power become so important? What do you do with it once you achieve it?

These are the questions that always linger on my mind.
"Agar tum kisi ko pyaar karte ho, toh use jake bata do. Zyada se zyada kya hoga? Samne wala mana kar dega par tumhe ye tasalli hogi ki tumne apne mann ki baat use bata di." - Lines from the movie 'Lamhe'.

Khuda Jaane

The latest romantic song from the upcoming movie Bachana Ae Haseeno. The song is picturised on Ranbir Kapoor and his real life love Deepika Padukone. Its soft and soothing to ears and the lyrics are good. Below are the lyrics. They are very touching. Shows that the two are truly madly deeply in love with each other. :)

Sajde Mein Yuhin Jhukta Hoon; Tum Pe Aake Hi Rukhta Hoon
Kya Yeh Sabko Hota Hai; Humko Kya Lena Hai Sab Se
Tum Se Hi Sab Baathe Ab Se; Ban Gaye Ho Tum Meri Dua

Sajde Mein Yuhin Jhukta Hoon; Tum Pe Aake Hi Rukhta Hoon
Kya Yeh Sabko Hota Hai; Humko Kya Lena Hai Sab Se
Tum Se Hi Sab Baathe Ab Se; Ban Gaye Ho Tum Meri Dua

Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Fida Hoon
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Mit Gaya
Khuda Jaane Yeh Kyun Hua Hai Ke Ban Gaye Ho Tum Mere Khuda

Tu Kahe To Tere Hi Ek Dhum Ke Mein Nishano Pe
Chaloon Rukoon Ishaare Pe
Tu Kahe To Khwab ko Bana Ke Mein Bahane Se
Mila Karoon Sirhane Pe
Hoo Tumse Dil Ki Baathe Seekhi
Tumse Hi Yeh Raahe Seekhi
Tum Pe Mar Ke Mein To Jee Gaya
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Fida Hoon
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Mit Gaya
Khuda Jaane Yeh Kyun Hua Hai Ke Ban Gaye Ho Tum Mere Khuda

Dil Kahe Ke Aaj To Paalon Tum Panaahon Mein
Ke Dar Hai Tumko Khodoonga
Dil Kahe Sambhal Zara Khushi Ko Na Nazar Laga
Ke Dar Hai Mein To Rodoonga
Hooo Karthi Hoon Saugaate Tumse
Baande Dil Ke Waade Tumse, Yeh Tumhe Na Jaane Kyan Hua
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Fida Hoon
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Mit Gaya
Khuda Jaane Yeh Kyun Hua Hai Ke Ban Gaye Ho Tum Mere Khuda

Sajde Mein Yuhin Jhukta Hoon; Tum Pe Aake Hi Rukhta Hoon
Kya Yeh Sabko Hota Hai; Humko Kya Lena Hai Sab Se
Tum Se Hi Sab Baathe Ab Se; Ban Gaye Ho Tum Meri Dua
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Fida Hoon
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Mit Gaya
Khuda Jaane Yeh Kyun Hua Hai Ke Ban Gaye Ho Tum Mere Khuda

The other day I was talking to some one when he told me that there are 2 kinds of people in this world:

1) One who takes life as it comes
2) One who sets targets for himself and lives to achieve them

Does that mean that the person who lives each day does not have goals in life? I agree here with my friend that there are definitely 2 kinds of people but I still believe that even the 1st kind of person has goals in life, the only difference being that he does not spend his present all the time worrying about future. And I truly think that that person is better than the second one whose mind is always occupied about future and tensed rather than enjoying the moment although both kinds are not wrong. :)

Expectations - II

Why do we have expectations? Why, if we do something for others, we expect them to return it in some way? Even when we say that we are doing it without expecting a return, our sub conscious knows that we still want them to reciprocate in some way. Don't we? Expectation, once you start having them is a vicious circle. You do, you want them to do, then they want you to do.....n it goes on. Why can't we just do good to others and forget about it? Why, Why, Why???

Silk

No I am not going to talk about the clothes here. ;) SILK is a Chinese restaurant in Faridabad where I went yesterday for dinner.

Rating - 6/10

1) You feel good as soon as you enter. The place is well decorated.
2) Booze collection seemed good. ;)
3) The service is just average.
4) The food too is just average or may be what we ordered wasn't so great.
5) The music was good but too loud for the place and ambiance.
6) The crowd is decent, mostly families.
7) Decently priced.

Jaane Tu....ya jaane na

Ya...thats a movie name. Went for this movie yesterday with my family. Its about a group of friends where Rats(Imran Khan) and Meow(Genelia D'Souza) are best pals. Everyone, including their parents, think that they are in love with each other but they make it clear that are not. Rats gets a girlfriend and Meow gets engaged to some other guy. Over the course of the movie, they realize that they ARE in love with each other. And then......watch the movie to know what happens though its not very difficult to guess what would have happened. ;)

The concept is old but the movie has been very well directed. All new faces make the movie look fresh in a way. All have done a good job. Director managed to get the best out of everyone. :) 2-3 songs are good, "Pappu can't dance" being my favourite. ;) It does get boring in few scenes but else a nice movie. On a friend's suggestion, I am giving rating to this movie as 8/10.

Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic

Went for this movie yesterday. The movie is about 4 kids whose parents die in an accident where the car gets hit by Saif's car. The court orders Saif to take care of those kids till the time the youngest kid turns 18. Now the kids and Saif don't like each other and god(Rishi Kapoor) can see this from Heaven. He sends an angel(Rani Mukherji) to take care of the situation. And she does some magic for next 1 hour in the movie and everyone starts liking everyone. I liked the movie since it had magic. :D The songs were pretty ok. Saif is looking hot. Rani has done a good job. Amisha Patel was not reqd in the movie although her song Lazy Lamhe is nice. The kids were great and their feeling was quite obvious to understand. :) There are some messages subtly given to kids of age 6-10 which is good. :)

All in all, a watchable movie. Cute and light. :)

I got to know all this recently after reading the book 'The Twentieth Wife' by Indu Sundaresan.

17th & 18th June

17th & 18th June last year was a weekend. Thats when my Chennai friends and I planned to visit Yercaud - a small hill station about 400Kms from Chennai. We were 12 people and hired a mini bus. The 2 days were total fun and the weather in Yercaud was awesome. It drizzled in evening and little cold at night. All I can say is the place was good, the friends were great, the time we spent was heaven. I miss that trip. I wish I could go to some place again with the same group of friends. :)

How does it feel when you meet your good friends after a long time??Ask me. You feel extreme happiness. Thats exactly what I felt when I met Archu and Vik today in Delhi. We shopped and went to my favourite hang out spots during college days. It was nice. Never knew that I would be visiting those places with them and re live those memories.

Something like this happened last week also when I met my school time friend Bakul over lunch.

I am thankful to God that I have good friends around me. :)

Car Museum

While in Abu Dhabi, we went to this Car Museum. Actually, its not really a museum. Its a collcetion of cars by a Sheikh. Thats his hobby. Almost all models of even cars like Merc, Dodge, Rolls Royace, Land Rover, Range Rover, etc were there. There are about 204 cars in this museum and another 100 at his home. Below are some pics. :)

Here are some pics of Abu Dhabi on a friend's request. :)

Goodbye

Tears of blood fall from my broken heart
I never thought we'd be apart
When you held me, you said "Forever"
Now that you're gone, I know you meant "Never"
Saying you loved me with that look in your eyes
And that, too, was a cold-hearted lie
Your tender touch, a soft kiss
Two things about you I will miss
As I sit here thinking of you
My face is wet with tears past due
I should have cried long ago
But I just loved you so
I know they say love is blind
But I had only you on my mind
A hurt so deep, it cuts like a knife
But wounds heal, and I'll go on with my life.

A poem by Kristin Evans

Of Broken Love and Memories

Memories are all that remains,
Of a perfect love gone wrong,
Memories of your warm smile,
Of your soft loving caresses,
And your sweet tender kisses,

Memories so bitter yet so sweet,
Where my lips curl into a smile,
Yet the joy never to reach my eyes,
As unbidden tears streak down,

Memories of a classic love story,
That ended on a rain soaked day,
As if the sky saw and empathized,
And weeped along with my heart,

Moments we had spent together,
Will live and last forever,
As unforgettable memories,
To be played over and over,

Memories are all that I have left,
Of a love that once burned bright,
Now masked, dimmed and dying,
But it is in this eternal moment,
That I love you the most,

But it is too late to turn back now,
For we have taken a one way road,
To memories and might have beens,
And used up all our given chances,

So now, while I hurt and ache,
I will also pray, hope and wait,
For a gentle and loving heart,
To heal and revive this love broken soul,
And give a new home to this orphaned heart...…

A poem by White Rose

Losing Your First Love

My feelings for you grew stronger as the days went by,
you hurt my feelings how could you cheat and lie.

After everything that happened between us,
the one thing that was missing was the trust.

The night you had me over
my heart melted the moment you held me so close to you,
then you dumped me in a heartbeat, leaving me cold and blue.

I cry every second wondering what I did wrong,
I thought we'd last for so long.

I miss not hearing your voice on the phone,
I feel heartbroken and very alone.

why can't we work this out and still be together
you by my side telling me everything will be alright,
why did we have to end and you leave me
speechless on that cold January night?

I still like you a lot and hope one day again soon
you will realize that what we had was special to both you and me,
and that God intended for us to be together
we were meant to be.

A poem by Korn83

It happens only in India

It happens only in India or rather I should say in Faridabad. I am back from Abu Dhabi after 5 weeks. And life here seems to be like in a hell. Sharing few personal experiences.

1) Delhi International Airport - Its in a complete mess because of the renovation and extension going on. When I went there to fly to AD(this is pre visit exp), I was completely lost. The ground staff was equally lost, eventually, being of no help. You will have to search your way through. No directions nothing. If some one was watching me, he/she would have called me a dehati(straight from village)

2) Electricity problem - I am not sure if other NCRs have a similar problem, but Faridabad is going from bad to worse.

3) Water problem - Its so so so dirty as if its coming from the sewage treatment plant without being treated properly. I am scared of bathing in this water. And you may find this funny but I wash my face only with RO water.

4) Internet connection - I have a VSNL Internet connection but I wonder what I am paying for. It hardly works. And when it does, the connection keeps going off.

5) Customer Service - Its equivalent to Zero. When we came back home from AD, our phone line was dead. We registered a complaint with the concerned authorities. It took us 3-4 more calls as reminders and 5 days to fix the phone line.

6) Movie Halls - Maaan...this is a pain. They hardly put any good english movie. With PVRs and Inoxs opening here, we still have to see the English movies in Delhi.

These are the problems we/I face on a day to day basis. Faridabad surely has some bigger problems. I just upadted my name on orkut as 'Welcome to Hell'. Thats my emotion of the moment. :)
