A special way to say...you care :)

The post is dedicated to a special friend.

There are so many ways to express something as simple as 'I care for you'. Few days back a friend sent a simple line to me on chat and it meant a lot. I feel glad to have a friend like him, some one who genuinely cares.

A: Smile coz ur worth it... no damn fool should be able to take away ur smile :)

Thanks for being my friend A. :)

Labels or Love

Love's like a runway but which one do I love more?
No emotional baggage just big bags filled with Dior
Love's like a runway so whats all the fussing for?
Lets stop chasing those boys and shop some more ;)

Kissing by Bliss

Heard this song in the movie Sex and the city. Nice song.

The red light of the sun,
slowly descending.
The sky is all I see,
it's never ending.

We could fly,
you and I.
On a cloud,
kissing, kissing.

The wind plays with the leaves,
the weather turns colder.
But as long as we believe,
love doesn't get older.

We could fly,
you and I.
On a cloud,
kissing, kissing.

On a journey of the heart,
there's so much to see.
And when the sky is dark,
you'll be right here,
right here with me.

Right here with me.
Kissing.

(Kissing, kissing)
(A journey of the heart)

Mission Istanbul

No no...I am not going to write a movie review here. This is about my trip to the beautiful place Istanbul in Turkey. Till some time back(this may sound a little funny) I didn't know where Istanbul was situated. I thought it was yet another place in some part of Pakistan or Afghanistan.

For those like me - Istanbul is a strategically situated city at the west most side of Turkey. Its the only metropolis in the world that connects two continents that is Europe and Asia. The place is awesomely nice. I would suggest everyone to visit it once in their lifetime. For more about the place visit Istanbul

P.S. - I will be putting photographs taken by me in separate posts. :)

2nd Dec - UAE National Day

The National Day of UAE is celebrated on 2nd Dec every year. The United Arab Emirates is a federation of 7 emirates, namely, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Sharjah, Fujairah and Ajman. It was formed in the year 1971 under the leadership of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Yesterday was 2nd Dec and yet another year of successful relations between all the emirates. This was my 1st time that I saw such a celebration. The roads and buildings were decorated. The whole city looked lit up. People had decorated their cars displaying their love and patriotism for the country. There were water sports competition held, the chopper was flying through out the day with the national flag of the country(as in the picture above), there was a non stop 45 mins fireworks show at night which UAE claims to be one of world's largest fireworks.

It was good to see how the emiratis (people of UAE) respect their country, their leader. I had never seen so much crowd in Abu Dhabi before. The roads were jam packed with decorated cars. The parks and gardens were full with people enjoying the barbecues. It felt more like Diwali to me unlike the actual Diwali Day. ;) All in all an evening spent in a good way. :)

If only I could turn back time........:)

This is the latest nick I have put on orkut. Was talking to Eva today and discussing the good old college days. That had been one of the best times of my life. We were a group of 8 people. Movies, Birthday treats, picnics, shopping, time pass.....we 8 were always there. We didn't have any tension. We managed to enjoy as well as study. Those bunking classes, proxy attendance, SN and central market, Ansal Plaza (our hot spot), Anand Lok Park, Barista in front of college, Mithas....oh those days. Scolding, bitching, supporting, fighting, arguing, we did everything. My cousin too was a part of this group and she used to hang out more with us than with her own batch friends. Had just a perfect set of friends.

Life now is full of tensions. Its more about responsibilities, not that I want to shake them off, but cant afford to have a carefree attitude anymore. Those same friends have got busy with their own lives blissfully unaware of what the other group members are upto. Its not a group anymore. And it can never be the same again with bitterness crept in between few friends. Oh how I wish I could turn back time.................

Betrayal

I had closed my eyes to the truth and lived the lies
Can you tell me that you sorry look deep in to my eyes?

You abused my love for you, and took it as a game
Don’t you feel guilty? Are you dying in shame?

You were my love, we were never apart
No, that’s lie you had a devilish heart!

You were full of evil and yet I could never see
I protected you, I lied for you and yet you spoke behind me

What kind of a lover would make his love cry
When you took her hand, looked at me, and just walked by

Some say that love could never ever fade
But now I feel I have no love cause I have been betrayed.

I was surfing net when I came across some really nice quotes. Here they are

  • Don't cry because its over. Smile because it happened.
  • Giving up doesn't always mean you are weak … sometimes it means that you are strong enough to let go.
  • Promises mean everything, but after they are broken, sorry means nothing.
  • "An eye for an eye" leaves the whole world blind.
  • I've learned-
That you cannot make someone love you, all you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them that no matter how much I care, some people just don't care back.
  • Just because someone hurt you yesterday
doesn't mean you should start living life today
in constant fear of being hurt tomorrow.
  • Try hard but if you fail don't try it again but search for your mistake in it.

I have been looking for a job for past 5 months now. Now whats so big deal about it. There are lakhs of youths in India who are doing the same.

I was talking to one of my friends the other day about the job hunt since he too is looking for one. He and I also discussed about another friend who again is looking for a job. The catch here is that all 3 of us have Post Graduate degrees in our fields with some level of industry experience and all 3 are sitting jobless. It made me wonder as to what is the point of attaining these qualifications when we still are in the category of people who are simple graduates or not even that. Why did we put in extra years of our life studying when we are all at par with them. Why this struggle of entering a premier institute, competetive exams, etc etc.

I know this time of not having a job is not going to go on forever and our qualifications defintely will give us an edge over the others, but just a thought that crossed my mind while talking to my friend.
Do you ever think about the purpose of your living? Some mornings, I get up thinking "Why am I living?" What is going to happen with me? Will I also fall into the regular boring routine of life of getting married, having kids, raise them, enter old age and die one day? It seems so predictable. Not that I want to make a difference in this world and then depart. I AM just a regular human being with these questions knocking on he doors of my mind. I think its fun when life has more uncertainities, undecided things, in short - a mystery.

At times, I think what am I doing in this world. What is my identity or individuality. People say that you create your identity by doing well in your profession, whatever it may be. Thats so cliche. And individuality?? Its so lost once you are married because you are busy fulfilling the expectations of people around you.

These days in my life are one of the most exciting ones. Why? Becase I cant see a thing coming my way. I dont know the guy I will be marrying, the job I will be doing or the place I will be at. And I am not talking about long term stuff here. Its all short term. I have learnt to take each day as it comes.

P.S. - The post is more of random thoughts put together. Just another day when I got up thinking - Why am I living?

9XM

9XM is another music channel like MTV & Channel V. It shows only bollywood songs which are not too old. But what I like most about the channel is the breaks that they have between the songs. Apart from the regular commercials, they show things like Bakwas Band Kar - PJ session, Bheegi Billi - stupid songs of a supposedly smart street cat, The Beetle Nuts - stupid Shero Shayari. My favorite is Bakwas Band Kar. The 2 cartoon characters are good and the way they speak is amazing. Below are some PJs that I remember from the channel.

1) Bade: yaar mujhe doctor ke paas jana hai
Chhote: kyun kya hua
B: mujhe na eye sight check karwani hai
C: kyun kya hua eye sight ko
B: mujhe aajkal door ka nahi dikhta
C: door ka nahi dikhta?
B: haan yaar
C: acha tujhe wo sun nazar aa raha hai
B: haan
C: toh aur kitni door dekhega yaar
;)
B: bakwas band kar

2) C: arre bade kahan bhage ja raha hai
B: haan yaar, mere padosi ko gunde utha ke le gaye
C: gunde le gaye, haan fir to tuhje jana chahiye
B: haan tabhi toh ja raha hun
C: but khali hath jayega? unke paas toh gun shun hogi
B: aree haan ye baat bhi sahi hai, khali hath kaise jayun
C: ais akar 2 dozens kele le ja, khali hath jana theek nahi lagta 1st time
;)
B: bakwas band kar

Politics - meaning changed

The other day I was watching comedy Circus on TV when 2 people enacted a conversation between 2 politicians Pervez Musharraf and Sonia Gandhi. It made me think that the word politics/politician used to mean the study of government of states and other political units or the profession devoted to governing and to political affairs or as a process by which groups of people make decisions as to who gets what, when, why, how, etc.

Now the same word is so commonly used in corporate world for people who strive to be in power and authority even if it means causing harm to others. And it does not appear just among the top management but also trickles down to the lowers levels.
We so commonly hear that so and so person/group is playing politics. What I am trying to say here is that healthy social relationships or a simple performance related achievements have taken a back seat in the corporates. Where is the world going? What is happening to people?Has money and power become so important? What do you do with it once you achieve it?

These are the questions that always linger on my mind.
"Agar tum kisi ko pyaar karte ho, toh use jake bata do. Zyada se zyada kya hoga? Samne wala mana kar dega par tumhe ye tasalli hogi ki tumne apne mann ki baat use bata di." - Lines from the movie 'Lamhe'.

Khuda Jaane

The latest romantic song from the upcoming movie Bachana Ae Haseeno. The song is picturised on Ranbir Kapoor and his real life love Deepika Padukone. Its soft and soothing to ears and the lyrics are good. Below are the lyrics. They are very touching. Shows that the two are truly madly deeply in love with each other. :)

Sajde Mein Yuhin Jhukta Hoon; Tum Pe Aake Hi Rukhta Hoon
Kya Yeh Sabko Hota Hai; Humko Kya Lena Hai Sab Se
Tum Se Hi Sab Baathe Ab Se; Ban Gaye Ho Tum Meri Dua

Sajde Mein Yuhin Jhukta Hoon; Tum Pe Aake Hi Rukhta Hoon
Kya Yeh Sabko Hota Hai; Humko Kya Lena Hai Sab Se
Tum Se Hi Sab Baathe Ab Se; Ban Gaye Ho Tum Meri Dua

Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Fida Hoon
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Mit Gaya
Khuda Jaane Yeh Kyun Hua Hai Ke Ban Gaye Ho Tum Mere Khuda

Tu Kahe To Tere Hi Ek Dhum Ke Mein Nishano Pe
Chaloon Rukoon Ishaare Pe
Tu Kahe To Khwab ko Bana Ke Mein Bahane Se
Mila Karoon Sirhane Pe
Hoo Tumse Dil Ki Baathe Seekhi
Tumse Hi Yeh Raahe Seekhi
Tum Pe Mar Ke Mein To Jee Gaya
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Fida Hoon
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Mit Gaya
Khuda Jaane Yeh Kyun Hua Hai Ke Ban Gaye Ho Tum Mere Khuda

Dil Kahe Ke Aaj To Paalon Tum Panaahon Mein
Ke Dar Hai Tumko Khodoonga
Dil Kahe Sambhal Zara Khushi Ko Na Nazar Laga
Ke Dar Hai Mein To Rodoonga
Hooo Karthi Hoon Saugaate Tumse
Baande Dil Ke Waade Tumse, Yeh Tumhe Na Jaane Kyan Hua
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Fida Hoon
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Mit Gaya
Khuda Jaane Yeh Kyun Hua Hai Ke Ban Gaye Ho Tum Mere Khuda

Sajde Mein Yuhin Jhukta Hoon; Tum Pe Aake Hi Rukhta Hoon
Kya Yeh Sabko Hota Hai; Humko Kya Lena Hai Sab Se
Tum Se Hi Sab Baathe Ab Se; Ban Gaye Ho Tum Meri Dua
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Fida Hoon
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Mit Gaya
Khuda Jaane Yeh Kyun Hua Hai Ke Ban Gaye Ho Tum Mere Khuda

The other day I was talking to some one when he told me that there are 2 kinds of people in this world:

1) One who takes life as it comes
2) One who sets targets for himself and lives to achieve them

Does that mean that the person who lives each day does not have goals in life? I agree here with my friend that there are definitely 2 kinds of people but I still believe that even the 1st kind of person has goals in life, the only difference being that he does not spend his present all the time worrying about future. And I truly think that that person is better than the second one whose mind is always occupied about future and tensed rather than enjoying the moment although both kinds are not wrong. :)

Expectations - II

Why do we have expectations? Why, if we do something for others, we expect them to return it in some way? Even when we say that we are doing it without expecting a return, our sub conscious knows that we still want them to reciprocate in some way. Don't we? Expectation, once you start having them is a vicious circle. You do, you want them to do, then they want you to do.....n it goes on. Why can't we just do good to others and forget about it? Why, Why, Why???
