Politics - meaning changed

The other day I was watching comedy Circus on TV when 2 people enacted a conversation between 2 politicians Pervez Musharraf and Sonia Gandhi. It made me think that the word politics/politician used to mean the study of government of states and other political units or the profession devoted to governing and to political affairs or as a process by which groups of people make decisions as to who gets what, when, why, how, etc.

Now the same word is so commonly used in corporate world for people who strive to be in power and authority even if it means causing harm to others. And it does not appear just among the top management but also trickles down to the lowers levels.
We so commonly hear that so and so person/group is playing politics. What I am trying to say here is that healthy social relationships or a simple performance related achievements have taken a back seat in the corporates. Where is the world going? What is happening to people?Has money and power become so important? What do you do with it once you achieve it?

These are the questions that always linger on my mind.
"Agar tum kisi ko pyaar karte ho, toh use jake bata do. Zyada se zyada kya hoga? Samne wala mana kar dega par tumhe ye tasalli hogi ki tumne apne mann ki baat use bata di." - Lines from the movie 'Lamhe'.

Khuda Jaane

The latest romantic song from the upcoming movie Bachana Ae Haseeno. The song is picturised on Ranbir Kapoor and his real life love Deepika Padukone. Its soft and soothing to ears and the lyrics are good. Below are the lyrics. They are very touching. Shows that the two are truly madly deeply in love with each other. :)

Sajde Mein Yuhin Jhukta Hoon; Tum Pe Aake Hi Rukhta Hoon
Kya Yeh Sabko Hota Hai; Humko Kya Lena Hai Sab Se
Tum Se Hi Sab Baathe Ab Se; Ban Gaye Ho Tum Meri Dua

Sajde Mein Yuhin Jhukta Hoon; Tum Pe Aake Hi Rukhta Hoon
Kya Yeh Sabko Hota Hai; Humko Kya Lena Hai Sab Se
Tum Se Hi Sab Baathe Ab Se; Ban Gaye Ho Tum Meri Dua

Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Fida Hoon
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Mit Gaya
Khuda Jaane Yeh Kyun Hua Hai Ke Ban Gaye Ho Tum Mere Khuda

Tu Kahe To Tere Hi Ek Dhum Ke Mein Nishano Pe
Chaloon Rukoon Ishaare Pe
Tu Kahe To Khwab ko Bana Ke Mein Bahane Se
Mila Karoon Sirhane Pe
Hoo Tumse Dil Ki Baathe Seekhi
Tumse Hi Yeh Raahe Seekhi
Tum Pe Mar Ke Mein To Jee Gaya
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Fida Hoon
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Mit Gaya
Khuda Jaane Yeh Kyun Hua Hai Ke Ban Gaye Ho Tum Mere Khuda

Dil Kahe Ke Aaj To Paalon Tum Panaahon Mein
Ke Dar Hai Tumko Khodoonga
Dil Kahe Sambhal Zara Khushi Ko Na Nazar Laga
Ke Dar Hai Mein To Rodoonga
Hooo Karthi Hoon Saugaate Tumse
Baande Dil Ke Waade Tumse, Yeh Tumhe Na Jaane Kyan Hua
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Fida Hoon
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Mit Gaya
Khuda Jaane Yeh Kyun Hua Hai Ke Ban Gaye Ho Tum Mere Khuda

Sajde Mein Yuhin Jhukta Hoon; Tum Pe Aake Hi Rukhta Hoon
Kya Yeh Sabko Hota Hai; Humko Kya Lena Hai Sab Se
Tum Se Hi Sab Baathe Ab Se; Ban Gaye Ho Tum Meri Dua
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Fida Hoon
Khuda Jaane Ke Mein Mit Gaya
Khuda Jaane Yeh Kyun Hua Hai Ke Ban Gaye Ho Tum Mere Khuda

The other day I was talking to some one when he told me that there are 2 kinds of people in this world:

1) One who takes life as it comes
2) One who sets targets for himself and lives to achieve them

Does that mean that the person who lives each day does not have goals in life? I agree here with my friend that there are definitely 2 kinds of people but I still believe that even the 1st kind of person has goals in life, the only difference being that he does not spend his present all the time worrying about future. And I truly think that that person is better than the second one whose mind is always occupied about future and tensed rather than enjoying the moment although both kinds are not wrong. :)

Expectations - II

Why do we have expectations? Why, if we do something for others, we expect them to return it in some way? Even when we say that we are doing it without expecting a return, our sub conscious knows that we still want them to reciprocate in some way. Don't we? Expectation, once you start having them is a vicious circle. You do, you want them to do, then they want you to do.....n it goes on. Why can't we just do good to others and forget about it? Why, Why, Why???

Silk

No I am not going to talk about the clothes here. ;) SILK is a Chinese restaurant in Faridabad where I went yesterday for dinner.

Rating - 6/10

1) You feel good as soon as you enter. The place is well decorated.
2) Booze collection seemed good. ;)
3) The service is just average.
4) The food too is just average or may be what we ordered wasn't so great.
5) The music was good but too loud for the place and ambiance.
6) The crowd is decent, mostly families.
7) Decently priced.

Jaane Tu....ya jaane na

Ya...thats a movie name. Went for this movie yesterday with my family. Its about a group of friends where Rats(Imran Khan) and Meow(Genelia D'Souza) are best pals. Everyone, including their parents, think that they are in love with each other but they make it clear that are not. Rats gets a girlfriend and Meow gets engaged to some other guy. Over the course of the movie, they realize that they ARE in love with each other. And then......watch the movie to know what happens though its not very difficult to guess what would have happened. ;)

The concept is old but the movie has been very well directed. All new faces make the movie look fresh in a way. All have done a good job. Director managed to get the best out of everyone. :) 2-3 songs are good, "Pappu can't dance" being my favourite. ;) It does get boring in few scenes but else a nice movie. On a friend's suggestion, I am giving rating to this movie as 8/10.
